She was a star in American show Law & Order, where she was a delight to viewers as prosecutor Claire Kincaid for three years. In Crossing Jordan she played Jordan Cavanaugh during six seasons. Hennessy was also able to showcase her skills in movies such as RoboCop 3 Most Wanted, Chutney Popcorn, and The Acting Class. In addition, she wrote and directed these films. Hennessy began her acting career along with her sister who played twin call-girls in Dead Ringers in 1988. She had a brief stint on Broadway with the hit musical Buddy The Buddy Holly Story in 1990.
